About
About Currency Converter
This converter covers ten currencies that people move money between most often: the US dollar, euro, British pound, Pakistani rupee, Indian rupee, UAE dirham, Saudi riyal, Canadian dollar, Australian dollar and Japanese yen. Enter an amount, choose a currency to convert from and one to convert to, and the result appears right away, along with the exchange rate for one unit.
Next to the main result, a watchlist converts your amount into the other nine currencies at once. That helps when you compare prices, plan a trip or check what a salary or a remittance looks like in several places. The swap button flips the two currencies, and the copy button saves the result, the rate and the update time to your clipboard.
The rates are mid-market rates, the midpoint between buying and selling prices. Your bank, card or transfer service rarely gives you that rate. Open the Bank Fees panel and slide the fee from 0% to 10% to see how much a charge takes off the converted amount. The slider marks about 4% as an example of a platform markup, and the tool shows the exact amount you lose.
Rates come from a free exchange-rate service that updates about once a day, and the page shows the time of its last update. The numbers suit planning, budgeting and price comparison, not trading or time-sensitive transfers. The refresh button fetches the newest set. If the connection fails, the tool falls back to the last rates saved in your browser.
Nothing you type goes to us. Your browser asks the rate service for a list of rates, and the conversion math runs on your device. If the request fails and no saved rates exist, the tool shows a small built-in set of approximate values and labels it Emergency Fallback Rates, so check that label before you rely on a result.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Which currencies can I convert?
US dollar (USD), euro (EUR), British pound (GBP), Pakistani rupee (PKR), Indian rupee (INR), UAE dirham (AED), Saudi riyal (SAR), Canadian dollar (CAD), Australian dollar (AUD) and Japanese yen (JPY). Other currencies need a different converter.
How often do the rates update?
The source updates about once a day. The time of its last update shows at the top of the tool, and the refresh button pulls the newest set. Rates can move during the day, so a result may differ slightly from what a bank quotes right now.
What is the mid-market rate?
It's the midpoint between the price banks buy a currency at and the price they sell it at, with no markup. It's the fairest benchmark for comparing offers, but most banks and transfer services add a margin or a fee on top.
How do I see the cost of a bank or PayPal fee?
Press Bank Fees, then drag the slider to the percentage your provider charges. The tool subtracts that percentage from the converted amount and shows how much you lose in the target currency. Only the main result includes the fee. The watchlist always uses the plain rate.
Why does the tool say Offline Cache or Emergency Fallback Rates?
Offline Cache means the live request failed and the tool is using the last rates saved in your browser. Emergency Fallback Rates means no saved rates existed either, so it loaded a small built-in set of approximate values. Refresh once you're back online before you use the numbers.
Can I use these numbers for a real transfer or trade?
Use them to estimate. A transfer service sets its own rate and fees, and daily data can't track swings during the day. Check the final quote from your bank or provider before you send money.
Does it work for PKR and INR conversions?
Yes. Both are in the list alongside USD, AED, SAR, GBP and the rest, so you can convert in either direction, such as USD to PKR or AED to INR. The swap button reverses the pair.
Do you store the amounts I convert?
No. We never receive the amounts you convert. The only outside request asks a rate service for its current rate list. The tool saves that list in your browser's local storage so it can work if your connection drops.
